Working with The Information Company
TIC has built a creative
and multi-disciplinary team made up of trained and self-motivated
people committed to meeting the needs of our present and
future customers. One of our key strengths is our ability
to innovate and deliver software, design and editorial
solutions that help our clients achieve sharp performance
improvements. Our clients are among the biggest business
groups and companies in India (see
client list)
TIC maintains its edge in the market by bringing together
highly talented people in a creative, collaborative environment.
People are happy to take up challenges and to fulfil promises.
It's fun as well as learning.
Organisation, culture
We have an informal culture and a flat organisation without
multiple hierarchical layers. We do not have bureaucratic
hurdles to decision-making and action.
TIC is a multi-disciplinary organisation. The company's
basic competencies are in editorial and content creation
work; software; and visual design. As part of our growth
strategy, we are building marketing and HR competencies.
Each area of competence contributes to our different businesses,
and there are strong synergies between our three main
divisions. This requires people with different competencies
to work together as one team.
Our team members always give the full perspective of a
project to which they are assigned. This not only enhances
their job satisfaction levels and adds to the learning
process, it also enables TIC to meet customer requirements
effectively, quickly and in an integrated manner, and
to service them efficiently.
Multi-tasking
TIC's web solutions, software service and editorial and
design staff works in unison on our business process outsourcing
and design projects to build long-term relationships with
our reputed clients. The work done by this staff is critical
to our ability to deliver value to our quality-conscious
clients.
TIC has implemented multi-tasking, in which many of our
team members have capabilities to do more than one type
of task - and do it well. We have editorial staff with
design capabilities; design staff with software capabilities;
software people with research skills; and client servicing
staff with, research, editorial and design experience.
We encourage multi-tasking
and competence building through training programmes and
through constant discussions and reviews in which all
team members participate. Multi-tasking enhances productivity
as well as job satisfaction, and enables TIC to do work
that in other organisations may require nearly double
the staff. It also helps TIC ensure quality and delivery.
Equal opportunities, participative approach
TIC is a genuinely equal opportunities employer. Our people
come from different cultural, religious, educational and
linguistic backgrounds. Half the people at TIC are women.
The company also has a mix of young and old, of enthusiasm
and experience.
We do not discriminate between people because of their
backgrounds.
We also encourage people to express themselves. Everybody,
and that means everybody, has the right to disagree with
the boss (who's that?). Nobody gets penalised for making
their suggestions, and even criticisms. We appreciate
independent thinking. We encourage people to take the
initiative.
Ambitious plans, best terms
We are an ambitious organisation, and aim to be (and are)
a top-three player in India in everything we do. We aim
to build a significant global presence in some of our
operations within the next three years.
This means a substantial expansion of our team in all
research and operational departments - software, editorial,
design, and, of course, marketing. We shall always assure
quality and delivery as we grow.
Hence we need the best of people in our team, people who
can apply their minds to various projects, complete assignments
in time, constantly learn, and aim higher. What we offer
in return is job satisfaction, learning, and a total remuneration
package (including salaries, work-related commissions
and bonuses, and profit sharing) that are among the best
in India.
You have to be able to deliver results in a highly competitive
business environment. Second-best is not good enough.
