They came up with the idea called Hindalco Superhits and designed some fascinating Bollywood-style communication which was very effective in grabbing the attention of our employees. We are all bombarded with work emails, but this campaign cut through the clutter and got employees commenting, writing in, and engaging with HR. If it’s an idea, it’s got to be big, innovative and game changing. That’s the core belief at the Aditya Birla Group. And that’s the reason why we have been supporting the TedX platform. At the TedX Gateway last year, we wanted to really bring out the association of #BigOnIdeas with ABG and create buzz before and after the event. We wanted TIC to create positive and meaningful buzz for ABG’s hashtag #BigOnIdeas on social media. The strategy was two-fold. One, to get a select few speakers, who were influencers in their own right, to tell their stories and also speak about one ‘big idea’ that they thought would change the world. Two, to highlight all the amazing installations that ABG had put up at the event demonstrating the ‘big ideas’ that run the Group’s business. All this had to be done at a bare minimum budget. We were totally delighted with the results. The Tata Group engaged The Information Company (TIC) to bring out the inaugural issues of "AA Matters", a magazine on the Tata Affirmative Action Programme (TAAP). What set this magazine apart is that the entire process of conceptualising the magazine to getting it ready for distribution was compressed in a month's time. Within this period, TIC was called upon to absorb details of TAAP, a subject of no familiarity, in a manner that its rewrite teams could recast original copies to fit the tight space in the magazine, and design and produce the 32-page magazine in an attractive package. The ultimate product met the objective for which the magazine had been conceived.
